Accounts and signing in
Every account in Wild OS is a local account. It lives on this computer only, and there’s no online account to sign in to.
Everything here is in Settings > Accounts.
Your info
Section titled “Your info”Your name and picture, as shown on the sign-in screen.
Sign-in options
Section titled “Sign-in options”- Password: choose Change to set a new one.
- Sign in automatically when this computer starts: skips the sign-in screen. Your disk password still protects the computer when it’s off, so on an encrypted computer this is a reasonable choice if you’re the only one who uses it.
- Screen lock: how long before the screen locks when you step away. Press Windows + L to lock it straight away.
Your sign-in password and your disk password are separate unless you ticked Use my disk password to sign in at first start. Changing your sign-in password doesn’t change the disk password.
Other users
Section titled “Other users”Choose Add account to give each person who uses the computer their own files, settings and password. They appear on the sign-in screen, and can change their password later in Settings.
Each account is a Standard user or an Administrator. Administrators can install apps, change settings for everyone and manage other accounts. Wild OS asks for an administrator’s password each time, in a box titled Allow changes. You can switch between the two with Change account type.
Remove deletes an account and all of its files from the computer, including its desktop, documents, downloads, pictures, music and videos, so back up anything they want to keep first.
If you forget your disk password
Section titled “If you forget your disk password”Use your recovery key at the start-up prompt.
